Haifa Innovation Labs (HIL)
Social Innovation and Impact Entrepreneurship
Haifa Innovation Labs serve as a hub supporting social and environmental innovation alongside impact entrepreneurship. Aiming to tackle the major challenges of our time – such as poverty, hunger, climate change, and energy – we use a unique, challenge-driven innovation platform to provide support, tools, and resources for breakthrough initiatives. In collaboration with researchers who contribute academic knowledge and local industry leaders, HIL hosts advanced research and development processes with professional mentoring to foster and support technological innovation around social inequality, the blue economy, and the low-carbon economy.
HIL Academic
We offer a variety of academic courses to get tools for your first steps in the world of innovation and entrepreneurship. Our teaching method in courses is based on projects (project-based learning), combining theoretical principles with practical experience. To achieve these goals, we brought lecturers from the world of entrepreneurial and innovative practice to deliver the courses.
The Innovation Nursery
The Innovation Nursery is an academic workshop for experiencing the world of impact entrepreneurship. Students who join the Innovation Nursery are given the opportunity to work with a real client with an environmental or social challenge, and together with students from different faculties, to produce an innovative solution. The workshop is accompanied by an immersion package that includes experienced mentors, along with support from experts in various fields needed for each venture, such as intellectual property (patents), business development and more.
From here, you will come out with an initial prototype of an innovative product or service.
