About the Venture
The Solution
An environmental-socio-economic model that allows the target population to not only connect and identify more with the city / place of residence, but also to establish a green, environmentally friendly space that will be managed autonomously, without external funding. The Aquaponics system will be the center of the community space, which will connect the different populations through diverse social projects, with the products of the same system serving the users as a food source and a source of profit for the center itself
Challenge
The city of Kiryat Yam consists of different populations belonging to a low socio-economic class who are not connected to each other on a daily basis, so that there is no sense of belonging to the place of residence and the community. Secondly, there are unused public spaces, and few social / community hangouts in the city. Thirdly, there is currently no public response specifically for youth and young people. In addition, solar panels that are not used are placed around the public roofs in the city
Challenger
city is characterized by massive immigration absorption throughout its years, and complex social challenges such as population growth, elderly populations and children and youth at risk
