Do you have a significant challenge? Looking for a new way to solve a problem?

HIL serves as a bridge between academia, industry, and the community. We invite organizations from the business, public, and nonprofit sectors to collaborate with us, whether by presenting real-world challenges, sharing expertise as mentors, or becoming strategic partners. Together, we leverage academic knowledge and applied research to tackle pressing issues and co-create innovative solutions. Our goal is to drive social, environmental, and technological change, both locally and globally.

Here are some of our key achievements:

“The healthcare system faces numerous challenges, ranging from community-based care to the burnout of medical staff. Following a successful first round of the ‘Challenge to Innovation’ program, in which Clalit medical staff participated, we expanded our collaboration with HIL to launch a program entirely focused on the challenges of the healthcare system. Using the Challenge-Driven Innovation methodology, we selected key issues to address, aiming to develop solutions that meet real needs in the field and can be implemented in community clinics for the benefit of both staff and patients.”

Dr. Michael Hauser, Family Physician and Head of the Innovation and Research Unit, Haifa and Western Galilee District, Clalit Health Services

“The 8200 Alumni Association ran a joint program with HIL aimed at building climate resilience by tackling challenges related to climate, health, and well-being. Forty participants took part in the program, which brought together the worlds of academia, healthcare, high-tech, and venture capital. The association places great importance on encouraging entrepreneurs, especially in high-impact fields such as health and climate. We are proud of our partnership with HIL and were glad to contribute our experience in developing and supporting the program.”

Chen Shmilo, CEO of the 8200 Alumni Association

“The Haifa Bay Municipal Association for Environmental Protection leads environmental innovation in addressing the region’s unique ecological challenges. These include reducing and preventing environmental hazards, climate preparedness, and promoting urban sustainability. As part of this mission, the we collaborates with HIL to develop research, community, and technology-based solutions in several areas: monitoring and preserving urban trees, promoting sustainable lifestyles in schools and local communities, and building local climate resilience.”
